Hi there and welcome,
My name is Molly. I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and therapist. I provide individual therapy to clients experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, perfectionism, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, self-harming, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Your experience is unique to you, but I want you to know that you’re not alone, and that things aren’t hopeless.
Since 2010, I have been fortunate to work within a variety of settings within the community, including several hospitals, a residential treatment facility, and school board. These experiences, in addition to more formal certifications, have provided me some of the tools and skills that I currently use in developing treatment that is unique to my clients’ needs. I also always consider your current status, the issues you are dealing with, your goals, and what current obstacles are.
In terms of the specific tools and skills I use, I utilize a variety of approaches, drawing from evidence-based modalities and therapeutic approaches, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and skills from dialectical behaviour therapy. Our work is really determined by whatever is the best fit for you and your goal.
In my own personal experience with therapy as a client, it’s important for me to work with a therapist who is warm and compassionate, and someone I feel is truly invested in my wellbeing. These qualities make me feel safe in session, and as a therapist, I strive to embody these qualities as well. I want people to feel that they can connect with me easily and quickly. Therefore, it is important to me that I offer you warmth and compassion, as well as safety, kindness, empathy, humour (when appropriate), and a judgment-free space.
I am also a human who has encountered my own struggles in life. I know how painful and overwhelming and lonely life can be at times, and it would be my honour to support you through your own life struggles. My intention is to provide you with new meaningful perspectives and tools, as well as therapeutic support so that your journey towards meeting your goals is less painful, overwhelming, and lonely.
My name is Olivia. I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and therapist. I provide individual and family therapy to adolescents, young adults, and caregivers who may be experiencing challenges. These challenges could include things like depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity, grief and loss, self-esteem, self-harm, relationship conflict, and much more.
My view is of you is holistic, as a whole human within the context of your life, with uniqueness and an innate capacity for personal growth. We will have the conversations that you may want or need and equip you with skills to support change - and we’ll do this in a way that is grounded in professionalism but doesn’t forget about the humanity in the ‘room’. I bring together counselling frameworks and interventions from acceptance and commitment therapy, relational theory, attachment-based therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy skills, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach and treatment is developed alongside the client, based on an understanding your goals, needs, and strengths.
My own experiences on the other side of the therapy ‘chair’ remind me of how needed and rare it can be to find a space where are you able to be your authentic self, without fear of judgment. I know that you are doing the best with what you have and I’m here to support you with kindness, warmth, relatability, and our shared humanity.
